Amazon is a product based company which hires throughout the year. In this blog I'm going to discuss about the hiring process of Amazon in details. Last month i.e. in September Amazon had visited our college campus. As it was on-campus hiring so I'm mainly going to discuss about on-campus hiring process. 👦
Hiring Process 👀:
- Company Presentation Round
- Online Assessment
- Technical Interview - I
- Technical Interview - II
- Managerial Round
Round-wise Details 💊:
- Company Presentation Round : This round is for company presentation where one HR and one Software Developer Engineer (SDE)/ Software Engineer (SWE) from Amazon will join all the applicants through a video call to say why to join Amazon and the hiring process in details. Some students take it as optional but according to me it is also important because you will get an idea 💭 about the hiring process from this.
- Online Assessment: After one day or two days you will get online assessment details on your registered email id. Mostly they organize it on AMCAT or Mettle platform. For me it was AMCAT platform. Online assessment sections: 👉
- Automata Fix: It's a code debugging section. You will get 7 questions here and you have to fix the syntactical or logical errors in the given code according to the given question. Due to high cut off you have to try to solve at least 6 questions correctly with all test cases passed.
- Coding Section: Here you will get 2 coding questions. As it's on AMCAT platform so in most of the cases there are no time limit bound for execution of a code so you can apply brute-force approach. But you have to solve both the questions to qualify for next round otherwise you have depend on other candidates - how much they have solved.
- Behavioral Section: In this section you will get lots of psychometric questions. It's not an elimination section but it will define your character so choose the appropriate option from the given options.
- Logical Section: Here you will get 24-25 logical reasoning questions. For me questions were easy - simple encoding/ decoding, series etc. You have to at least solve 20 - 21 questions correctly.
- Technical Interview - I: I was given with a programming question on Google Docs. Interviewer then asked me to give a brute force solution with mentioning the time complexity and space complexity. Then after getting the brute force one he asked me whether we can have a optimal solution or not. If optimal solution available then what's that. It was about 1.5 hours interview.
P. S.: Ask questions to your interviewer until you are fully clear about the problem and at first try to explain what you are thinking - how you will solve the problem. Then go for writing the actual code.
- Technical Interview - II: If you qualified for the second technical interview then your first interviewer will pass his/ her feedback to the second interviewer. If his/ her feedback is good then you can expect only your subject based questions in this round otherwise you may face another coding problem to solve like previous one.
- Managerial Round: In this round you will face a real life business problem of Amazon and you have to explain your solution.
If you clear all these rounds successfully you will get an internship/ full-time offer from Amazon. If it's an internship offer then if you perform well you may get a full-time opportunity from them. The internships are mainly of 6 months so confirm with your college that whether you college allows 6 months internships or not. All the internships are paid - mostly of 60, 000 per month.
